Porch "After" Photos Part II

Starting from where the last post left off, here's what the porch looked a few hours after we'd applied the (oil based) stain. By no means is the wood on the porch perfect, but I'm still glad we went with the stain that would allow the most natural beauty of the grain to show through.



After a long weekend, we felt that the oil had completely soaked up, and we returned our porch furniture to their original places. The adirondak chairs are plastic and were a great sale find at Menard's earlier this summer. Their low price means that I don't feel guilty when I hope they're replaced next season by a porch swing - there are hooks still in place from years ago when someone who lived here had one.

All ghouled and ready for Halloween this weekend! Our pumpkins were all purchased at the Farmer's Market, and I love their irregular shapes, colors, and stems. They fit in well with our not-so-perfect, but wonderfully so, finished project.
